Lost in the Mix of Summer
Okay... So I have been a little out of the e-loop for the past few weeks, warped for some reason with an overwhelming, non-blogging sensation whenever the idea of pawing away at my keyboard comes to surface. But I'm here... Finally surfacing in Alanna Land, and shueing that overwhelming feeling I have to turn and run from my chrome mac.
Summer in the city. Can any other sentence hit me with such disgust and hatred at this very moment? I'm talking hot gusts, humid blasts and pungent, sour smells that could make any urban dweller dodge and take refuge from their sacred city sidewalks. It's days like these that I wish I was one of those bohemian trust fund babies and could magically toss myself on a glorious yatch to set sail in the Mediterranean while the summer months escape me... But I'm here... In Manhattan... Braving it like the rest of the hard working New Yorkers who love the city just enough to stay during these spiteful days...And in a 3 piece (sweat drenched) suite. It is the American way, after all.
Lucky for me I have an outlet. A sublime escape when the weekend hits. This year its been discovered by a handful of my closest friends and it seems I always have some company on my Friday afternoon quest to the North Shore or the Bay where we unwind in the peace and quiet of the private beach or sip cocktails in the salty breeze...
